Role Overview

The Junior Sous Chef will provide essential support to the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily operations and management of the kitchen. This includes overseeing food preparation, maintaining high standards, and stepping in to lead the team as required. The role is integral to ensuring consistent quality and operational efficiency within the kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure precision, consistency, and quality across all kitchen sections during every service.
• Motivate, train, and support the kitchen team, leading by example and assuming kitchen management responsibilities when necessary.
• Enforce strict food safety and hygiene standards across all kitchen stations, ensuring continuous compliance and cleanliness.
• Manage inventory control, ensure proper stock rotation, and maintain efficient kitchen flow, adapting to service demands.
• Maintain composure during busy service periods, staying focused, setting a positive tone, and ensuring team progression.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a culinary role.
• Demonstrated discipline, adaptability, and consistency in kitchen operations.
• Ability to support senior chefs in daily kitchen management.
• Proficiency in overseeing food preparation and maintaining culinary standards.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Sous Chef and is part of the Back of House department. The role is expected to evolve with the growth of Le Café LPM.
