The Role of an Approvals Officer

The Approvals Officer plays a crucial role in managing patient medical insurance coverage, policies, and approvals. This position involves direct engagement with patients and insurance providers to facilitate timely medical approvals and resolve related inquiries, contributing to a seamless patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle patient inquiries regarding medical insurance coverage, policies, and approvals.
• Add and update insurance policies and company details in the approved system.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage.
• Submit and follow up on medical insurance approvals with insurance companies.
• Coordinate with insurance providers and respond to required medical inquiries.
• Assist patients with insurance-related inquiries, rejections, and complaints.
• Coordinate with the Medical Coding team to ensure proper coding.
• Prepare daily reports on submitted and approved insurance requests.
• Stay updated on Insurance Authority regulations and policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of experience in a similar approvals or medical insurance coordination role. A strong understanding of medical insurance processes, regulations, and patient service best practices is essential for success in this position.
