About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking an Assistant Consultant, Cardiac Surgery. This full-time position involves assisting in the provision of medical care within the Cardiac Surgery department and supervising interns and residents, adhering to established medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Consultant in delivering patient care and management in Cardiac Surgery, in line with hospital medical care standards.
• Provide high-quality patient care across all aspects of Cardiac Surgery, consistent with approved clinical privileges.
• Conduct inpatient and emergency room consultations upon request, ensuring timely responses as per hospital policy.
• Ensure the timely completion, accuracy, and legibility of medical records.
• Provide on-call services, maintaining availability and response times within hospital guidelines.
• Perform daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge and ensure discharge orders are written 24 hours prior to discharge.
• Undertake other clinical responsibilities related to the specialty as assigned.

Training and Development

• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as required.
• Participate in the department's educational activities and training programs.
• Engage in national and international medical conferences to stay abreast of advancements.
• Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and fulfill continuing education requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in Cardiac Surgery. Specific educational qualifications will be assessed in accordance with the hospital's medical staff bylaws and regulatory requirements.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh and operates on a full-time basis within a leading medical institution known for its commitment to patient care and medical research.
