About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking an Assistant Consultant, Critical Care to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves providing medical care within the Critical Care field and supervising trainees.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Assist the Consultant in delivering patient care and management in Critical Care, adhering to hospital standards.
• Provide high-quality patient care across all aspects of Critical Care within approved clinical privileges.
• Respond to consultation requests from inpatient and emergency room settings in a timely manner, as per hospital policy.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and legible completion of medical records.
• Participate in on-call services, ensuring availability and response times align with hospital policy.
• Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients for discharge and ensure discharge orders are written 24 hours in advance.
• Perform other clinical duties related to the specialty as assigned.

Academic and Supervisory Duties

• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows.
• Participate in departmental educational activities and training programs.
• Engage in national and international medical conferences.
• Maintain and enhance professional knowledge through continuing education.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must have graduated from a medical school in good standing and completed the required period of postgraduate training in a specialty and/or subspecialty. This includes holding Saudi/American Board, Canadian/UK certification, or equivalent as determined by the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee. A minimum of two (2) years of postgraduate training in a specialty and subspecialty, plus post-training experience, is required.
