About the Role

Albawani is seeking an Electrical BIM Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting the development, coordination, review, and management of electrical BIM models and related digital deliverables throughout various project stages, from design development to digital handover. The Electrical BIM Engineer will work under the guidance of the BIM Manager and in close collaboration with the Technical Engineering Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain electrical BIM models in accordance with project BIM requirements, standards, and CDE workflows.
  • Model and manage diverse electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, containment, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, PV systems, and various ELV/ICT systems.
  • Prepare electrical model views, coordinated plans, sections, elevations, and model-based drawing outputs using Revit MEP and related tools.
  • Ensure model information is accurate, coordinated, and suitable for design coordination, shop drawing production, construction support, QTO, 4D/5D readiness, as-built updates, and handover.
  • Support multidisciplinary BIM coordination, clash detection, and issue resolution using platforms such as Navisworks, ACC Model Coordination, and BCF.
  • Actively participate in BIM coordination, technical coordination, design coordination, and construction coordination meetings.
  • Support electrical shop drawing production from coordinated BIM models and approved IFC design information.
  • Assist with builders’ work coordination, including penetrations, sleeves, openings, and equipment plinths.
  • Support progressive as-built BIM updates and the preparation of AIM, COBie, and asset register information for digital handover.
  • Provide BIM-based technical support for RFIs, TQs, and site queries, including constructability reviews.
  • Support QTO, 4D/5D, and digital construction readiness by ensuring model elements are correctly parameterized for quantity extraction, CBS mapping, and sequencing.
  • Prepare clear coordination visuals for presentations, workshops, and construction sequence discussions.
  • Contribute to the development of BIM standards, electrical workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 6+ years of relevant BIM experience in electrical modelling, coordination, and construction-stage BIM support, with 7–9 years preferred on large-scale building, campus, governmental, mixed-use, design-and-build, or fast-track construction projects.
  • Strong electrical engineering background with the ability to coordinate electrical systems and mechanical/electrical interfaces.
  • Ability to review BIM models from an engineering and constructability perspective.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, containment, ELV/ICT, fire alarm, security systems, electrical rooms, risers, shafts, access zones, maintenance clearances, and builders’ work.
