Chief Accountant

About the Role

Westin Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Chief Accountant to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves overseeing general ledger processes, directing accounting functions, and supervising finance and accounting employees. The position requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily execution of general ledger impacted processes, providing support to clients and departments.
• Direct accounting functions, including account balancing, ledger reconciliation, reporting, and discrepancy resolution.
• Supervise other Finance and Accounting employees in areas related to general ledgers, subsidiary ledgers, and reporting.
• Coordinate and implement assigned accounting work and projects.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws regarding fraud and collection procedures.
• Generate accurate and timely reports and presentations.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to solve problems effectively.
• Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, or verify information and data.
• Balance credit card ledgers and verify contracts for groups.
• Achieve and exceed performance, budget, and team goals.
• Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize and organize work.
• Submit reports in a timely manner, meeting delivery deadlines.
• Ensure accurate documentation of profits and losses.
• Monitor applicable taxes, ensuring they are current, collected, and/or accrued.
• Maintain a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets.
• Complete period-end functions each period.
• Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units on accounting and budgeting policies and procedures.
• Support the development, mentoring, and training of employees.
• Provide constructive coaching and counseling to employees.
• Train personnel on account receivable posting techniques.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
• Proficiency with return check procedures, Gross Revenue Report, write-off procedures, and consolidated deposit procedures.
• Ability to stay updated technically and apply new knowledge to the job.
• Proficient in using computers and computer systems (hardware and software) for programming, data entry, and information processing.
• Ability to use relevant information and judgment to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, or standards.
• Strong personal integrity and effective listening skills.
• Demonstrates self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
• Ability to manage group or interpersonal conflict effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and time management.
• Ability to present ideas, expectations, and information concisely.

Additional Responsibilities

• Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates via telephone, written form, email, or in person.
• Inform and/or update executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.
• Make collection calls if necessary.
