Design Section Manager Wooden Factory

About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a Design Section Manager Wooden Factory to lead and manage all technical activities related to wooden joinery products. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role ensures accurate design development, adherence to engineering standards, manufacturability, material optimization, and successful project execution from concept through installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical office for shop drawings, production drawings, and material specifications.
• Review and approve technical submittals, design details, and construction drawings.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and industry standards.
• Supervise the preparation of detailed shop drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or related software.
• Coordinate design development with architects, consultants, and clients, resolving design conflicts and technical issues.
• Translate project requirements into production-ready manufacturing packages, optimizing material utilization and supporting CNC programming.
• Coordinate with Project Managers on technical requirements, schedules, and deliverables, and attend project coordination meetings.
• Provide technical guidance to production and installation teams, resolving complex manufacturing and site installation challenges.
• Introduce new joinery technologies, materials, fittings, and manufacturing methods to drive continuous improvement.

General Management Responsibilities

• Recruit, cultivate, and develop high performers to build a robust management pipeline, while guiding or releasing low performers.
• Take full responsibility for operations, anticipate problems, and make timely decisions.
• Deliver required results on time, within quality standards, and cost-effectively.
• Transform corporate goals into business plans, monitor performance, and initiate corrective actions.
• Monitor and control budgets and expenses to achieve optimum cost efficiency.
• Develop the organizational structure and ensure job descriptions are available for all roles.
• Develop and coordinate written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities.
• Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment in accordance with standard regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in a related field.
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of wooden joinery products, engineering standards, and manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage technical teams and projects.
