Director of Operations AOC (GACA)

About BeOnd and the Role

BeOnd, the world's first premium leisure airline operating an all-lie-flat Airbus fleet, is actively establishing new Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. We are seeking a highly qualified Director of Operations AOC (GACA) to lead our Saudi Arabia operations. This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Overview and Accountability

This is a critical management position required under GACAR Part ***, reporting directly to the Accountable Executive. The Director of Operations will hold operational control and accountability for all flight operations under the Saudi Arabia AOC, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and internal procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Exercise operational control and accountability for the conduct of flight operations under the AOC.
• Own the operations manual, ensure ops-specifications compliance, and set operational standards.
• Oversee flight dispatch, flight-time limitations, and flight-crew standards.
• Serve as the primary operational interface with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) for approvals, audits, and findings.
• Integrate and embed the Safety Management System (SMS) effectively within all operational processes.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role must meet the stringent requirements of GACAR Part *** and be acceptable to the GACA President based on their experience, competence, and knowledge. Essential qualifications include:

• Hold an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate (GACAR ***********
• At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience within the last 6 years, specifically exercising operational control over Part 121-similar operations (GACAR ***********
• For a first-time Director of Operations, at least 3 years of experience within the past 6 years as PIC of a Part 121 aircraft (GACAR ***********
• A full and comprehensive understanding of the GACAR, operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements, and the operations manual (GACAR ******, (g)).

Desirable Attributes

Preferred qualifications that would enhance a candidate's profile include:

• Experience with Airbus A320/A321 aircraft.
• Existing regulatory relationships with GACA and prior experience with new AOC establishment.
