Façade Engineer Design

About the Role

AECOM is seeking a Façade Engineer - Design to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves designing, developing, and optimizing building façade systems to meet both aesthetic and performance requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and project teams to deliver high-quality façade solutions that comply with local and international building standards, addressing the region's unique environmental challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop façade systems, including curtain walls, cladding, and glazing solutions, utilizing advanced CAD and BIM software.
• Conduct detailed technical analysis of façade performance, covering thermal, acoustic, and structural considerations.
• Prepare comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for construction and manufacturing.
• Evaluate and select appropriate materials and systems based on project requirements, climate conditions, and sustainability objectives.
• Ensure all designs comply with Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations, and international standards.
• Collaborate with architects and structural engineers to integrate façade systems with building design and structural elements.
• Analyze building envelope performance and recommend solutions for energy efficiency and moisture management.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and material specifications for façade systems.
• Participate in design reviews, presentations, and client meetings to communicate technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot design challenges and develop innovative solutions to complex façade engineering problems.
• Maintain organized project documentation and ensure quality control throughout the design process.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in façade engineering design.
• Proficiency in CAD and BIM software for façade system design.
• Strong understanding of thermal, acoustic, and structural considerations in façade performance.
• Knowledge of Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations, and international standards.
• Ability to prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Experience in material selection and cost estimation for façade systems.
