About the Financial Risk Analyst Role

American Express Saudi Arabia is seeking a full-time Financial Risk Analyst to join its team in Riyadh. This role is integral to the company's risk management framework, focusing on identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential financial and non-financial risks. The position supports strategic objectives by evaluating uncertainties and enabling informed decision-making through data-driven analysis. American Express Saudi Arabia has been a leader in the financial sector since 1999, providing innovative payment solutions and exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the risk management framework, policies, and procedures in alignment with company strategy.
  • Collect, clean, and validate financial and non-financial risk data for assessment and reporting.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and emerging risks impacting business performance.
  • Conduct risk data analysis, including trend analysis of the portfolio and company financial statements.
  • Perform industry, market, and country risk analysis to understand current and emerging risks.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance risk models to quantify exposure, forecast losses, and support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information on key risk indicators (KRIs) and Risk Appetite.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing to evaluate company resilience under adverse conditions.
  • Prepare clear, data-driven reports and dashboards for senior management and the risk committee.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in risk management and financial analysis.
  • Professional certifications are preferred, such as in Risk Management, Financial Risk Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Financial Reporting, Basel framework, or IFRS-9.

Required Skills and Proficiencies

  • Proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading English.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Proficiency with data tools such as Excel and Power BI.
  • Ability to interpret data, perform trend analysis, and present insights clearly.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Demonstrated strong MS-Office skills.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements within the financial industry is a plus.

Work Location and Eligibility

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position is open to Saudi nationals only.
