The Role of HSE Lead Mining

Wood is seeking an HSE Lead to support its Projects business in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience. The role may initially be office-based in Al Khobar, Riyadh, or Al Jubail, before transitioning to a site-based assignment within Saudi Arabia on an 8/2 rotation schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice and guidance to Managers on all HSE-related matters.
• Oversee the roll-out of Group HSE annual objectives and initiatives, and contribute to the development of company HSE objectives.
• Support Business Unit/Contract/Project Managers and HSE Advisors in the development and implementation of Group HSE objectives and other initiatives.
• Assist senior Managers in incident and accident investigations using appropriate processes such as Helix or Taproot.
• Monitor best practices and develop leading-edge HSE initiatives relevant to the supported business.
• Complete Management Support Visits to installations and work-sites.
• Support senior Managers and HSE Advisors in the timely reporting of both leading and lagging HSE Indicators.
• Conduct lagging indicator reviews of incident/accident trends and provide timely advice to senior Managers and Corporate Management on actions and initiatives.
• Provide mentorship and training for graduate and new recruits within the HSE team.
• Offer cross-Business Unit support as required.
• Conduct HSE Inductions for new hires.
• Develop HSE presentational material to support inductions and Group initiatives.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant HSE role.
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic HSE advice and guidance.
• Experience in incident investigation processes.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing HSE initiatives.

Work Environment and Location

This full-time position is based in Saudi Arabia. Initial placement may be in one of Wood's offices in Al Khobar, Riyadh, or Al Jubail, followed by mobilization to a site-based assignment with an 8/2 rotation schedule.
