Role Overview

The Lead Specialist, Data Product II is responsible for designing and delivering high-quality solution-level data models and architecture artifacts. This role ensures the creation of consistent, governed, and performant data products by applying enterprise standards to delivery initiatives. The specialist will collaborate with engineering, governance, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into implementable data models. This position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain logical and physical data models for analytics, integration, and reporting use cases, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and naming conventions.
• Translate business requirements into consistent entities, attributes, and relationships, verifying that definitions align with the business glossary and stewardship ownership.
• Develop dimensional models and curated layer schemas to support performant analytics and standardized Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Define mappings and transformation rules from source systems to curated layers, ensuring traceability, lineage, and reconciliation requirements are met.

Technical Leadership and Collaboration

• Participate in solution design reviews, identifying modeling risks and recommending mitigation strategies related to data quality, master/reference data, performance, and historization.
• Provide model-driven implementation guidance to data engineers and validate that physical implementations align with approved designs.
• Contribute reusable templates, reference models, and design patterns to accelerate delivery and standardize outputs.
• Collaborate with governance teams to embed metadata completeness, catalog registration, and data quality checks into delivery processes.
• Provide advanced technical leadership within delivery squads, ensuring modeling quality, integration readiness, and conformance to enterprise patterns across multiple projects and domains.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, or a related field. The role demands a strong understanding of enterprise data standards and the ability to translate complex business requirements into robust data solutions.
