About the Role at UCC Holding

UCC Holding is seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves comprehensive quantification for multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring that all tender documents and submissions strictly adhere to project requirements. The role includes conducting site visits during the pre-tender phase and preparing Requests for Information (RFIs) for review by Senior Quantity Surveyors.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing specifications, materials, and labor costs to establish project budgets.
• Manage project budgets throughout the construction lifecycle, monitoring costs, tracking expenditures, and identifying variances to maintain budgetary compliance.
• Support the tendering process, including the preparation of tender documents, analysis of bids, and negotiation of contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve optimal project value.
• Administer construction contracts, which involves reviewing terms, processing change orders, and resolving contractual disputes to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Perform precise quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings to determine the required quantities of materials and labor for construction activities.
• Implement effective cost control measures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and apply value engineering solutions to optimize project expenses.
• Identify and assess project risks such as cost overruns, schedule delays, and scope changes, developing mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project outcomes.
• Ensure construction work meets specified quality standards, conducting inspections and quality audits to identify deficiencies and confirm adherence to project requirements.
• Prepare regular progress and cost reports for project stakeholders, providing updates on project status, budget performance, and future cost forecasts.
• Assist in resolving disputes and claims related to cost, quantity, and contract issues, offering expert advice and support to project teams and stakeholders for timely and fair resolutions.
• Support the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.

Required Experience

Candidates for this Quantity Surveyor position should possess 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in detailed quantification for multi-disciplinary construction projects.

• Strong analytical skills for accurate cost estimation and effective budget management.
• Proficiency in contract administration, including review, change order processing, and dispute resolution.
• Ability to perform precise quantity takeoffs and implement robust cost control measures.
• A keen eye for identifying and assessing project risks and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Excellent reporting skills for communicating project status, budget performance, and forecasts.
• Capability to support tendering processes, negotiations, and contribute to HSE initiatives.
