About Boutique Group and The Red Palace

Boutique Group is transforming The Red Palace, a historic landmark in Riyadh built in 1943, into an ultra-luxury boutique hotel. This reimagined masterpiece blends timeless elegance with contemporary sophistication, offering an exclusive glimpse into the Kingdom’s past through meticulously restored architecture and curated cultural experiences. We are seeking a dedicated Restaurant Captain to join our team in Riyadh for a full-time position.

The Role of Restaurant Captain

As a Restaurant Captain, you will be responsible for leading a service section, ensuring the delivery of exceptional and personalized dining experiences. This involves managing guest interactions, coordinating service flow, coaching the service team, and upholding brand standards and the sequence of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage an assigned service section, ensuring smooth flow, correct timing, and consistent service standards.
  • Welcome guests, build rapport, and ensure a professional dining experience, recognizing repeat guests and VIPs.
  • Present menus, explain specials, and provide confident recommendations for food and beverages.
  • Take accurate orders, confirm dietary requirements, and enter orders correctly into the POS system.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to manage pacing, course firing, and quality control.
  • Execute key service moments, including menu presentation, table-side service, and dessert/tea rituals.
  • Maintain table and station standards, including mise-en-place, setting, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Address guest concerns professionally, resolving issues within authority or escalating to management as needed.
  • Drive revenue through suggestive selling while maintaining a guest-first approach.
  • Ensure billing accuracy, process payments, and complete close-out procedures.
  • Coach and supervise waiters within the section, including task delegation, on-the-job training, and providing service feedback.
  • Monitor service standards and provide ongoing coaching to maintain excellence.
  • Oversee daily scheduling and deployment of the service team to meet anticipated demand.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Assess team performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, HACCP/food safety, allergen controls, and health & safety requirements.
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including briefing participation, section readiness checks, and end-of-shift reports.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient restaurant floor operations, including table management and service delivery.
  • Assist in implementing operational policies and procedures to optimize guest experience and staff productivity.
  • Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and other departments to ensure seamless service and communication.
  • Assist in managing restaurant inventory, monitoring stock levels, ordering, and minimizing waste.

Guest Experience and Brand Standards

The Restaurant Captain is expected to embody the brand's commitment to refined hospitality. This includes maintaining impeccable grooming, demonstrating thoughtfulness and warmth, and anticipating guest needs through intuitive service. The role requires an understanding of how to deliver 'emotional luxury' and provide service that is both elegant and discreet, ensuring quality is never compromised across all guest touch points.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a similar Restaurant Captain or supervisory role within a luxury hospitality environment. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with a proven ability to manage service operations and lead a team effectively.
