The Role: Senior Data Scientist / Senior ML Engineer

Foodics is seeking a Senior Data Scientist / Senior ML Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves leading the design, development, and deployment of machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and generative AI (GenAI) models. These models will power core Foodics products, including pricing, personalization, and fraud detection. The successful candidate will collaborate with Data Engineers, Product Managers, and Platform teams to deliver production-grade models with real impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end ML model lifecycle, encompassing problem framing, data exploration, training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Design and develop scalable solutions utilizing both classical machine learning and generative AI techniques.
• Implement MLOps best practices, including versioning, reproducibility, monitoring, and CI/CD for models.
• Collaborate with various squads and platform teams to ensure model reusability and adherence to established standards.
• Mentor junior ML engineers and contribute to the internal ML knowledge base.
• Integrate models with APIs and backend services as required.
• Embrace and enforce a "you build it, you run it" approach, taking full ownership of ML models from development through monitoring and continuous improvement.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in data science or machine learning engineering. A strong background in designing, developing, and deploying ML/AI/GenAI models is essential. Proficiency in MLOps practices and the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams are key requirements for this position.
