About the Role

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves supporting a major infrastructure program for a mixed-use development, which aims to be a globally recognized landmark in Riyadh. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will report to the Senior Commercial Manager – Lead.

Project Context

The project is focused on creating a distinct, self-sustaining hub within Riyadh, featuring several iconic assets. KBR's role involves providing PMO services, enterprise-level governance, assurance, integration, and performance oversight across all projects and programs within this significant development.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for coordinating with Project Management Consultants (PMCs) on various commercial aspects, including executive commercial reporting, control, and strategy. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating with PMCs for the management of executive commercial reporting and control.
  • Recommending appropriate commercial strategies.
  • Managing pre and post-contract activities.
  • Providing accurate status reports to facilitate timely decisions and prevent schedule slippage and cost overruns.
  • Producing close-out reports for each project.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of standard cost and commercial reporting formats for PMCs.
  • Monitoring construction progress by measuring and evaluating installed quantities against planned quantities.
  • Compiling and validating analytical commercial data with PMCs.
  • Providing analytical data for executive risk reporting.
  • Assisting with the development of Project Cost Reports (PCR), Commercial Executive Reports, and Cashflows within Unifier, ensuring data consistency across platforms.
  • Reviewing existing procurement guidelines for Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and tender documents to develop standards for PMCs.
  • Assisting with the preparation of consolidated cost reports in line with agreed reporting requirements.
  • Collating annual program-wide budgets and preparing monthly cashflow reports for client submission.
  • Assisting with the preparation and development of cost benchmark reports, including Tender Price Index, Professional Fees Benchmark, Construction Cost Benchmark for above-ground assets and infrastructure, and efficiency benchmarks.
  • Preparing cost benchmarking templates, elemental cost plan formats, and required information for PMCs.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of program change control procedures.
  • Preparing project cost reports, including trend analysis and change reporting.
  • Reviewing cost risks and opportunities.
  • Reporting seamlessly between Cost Break Down Structure and Work Breakdown Structure, linking cost and schedule, including Earned Value.
  • Preparing updates for changes on the Program baseline budget to support the Business Plan exercise.
  • Supporting weekly, monthly, and quarterly project progress meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess a strong background in quantity surveying and commercial management within large-scale infrastructure projects. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant capacity is required.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, contributing to a significant infrastructure development. The role involves close coordination with Project Management Consultants and internal teams to ensure commercial oversight and reporting accuracy.
