About the Role

Riyadh University of Arts (RUA) is seeking a Space Planner & Design Architect to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to leading campus space planning, coordinating design efforts, and maintaining comprehensive design documentation across the university's facilities. The role ensures that the physical infrastructure aligns with academic and administrative needs, supporting RUA's mission as a hub for arts education and cultural innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead campus space planning and design coordination, ensuring alignment with academic and administrative requirements.
  • Act as the custodian of campus design documentation, including CAD/BIM models and master plans, ensuring accuracy and continuity.
  • Support departments in space allocation and planning decisions during campus operations and transitions.
  • Oversee campus-wide space allocation planning and governance across academic and administrative functions.
  • Lead design review processes to ensure compliance with approved plans, technical guidelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as design guardian for all campuses, evaluating and approving design change requests based on space efficiency, operational needs, and campus strategy.
  • Provide oversight of architectural and engineering design activities, ensuring consistency, coordination, and technical integrity.
  • Maintain and manage CAD/BIM drawings, ensuring all design documentation accurately reflects site conditions.
  • Review and approve design updates, coordinating their implementation with maintenance teams, shared services, and external vendors.
  • Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and project teams on ongoing construction and design activities.
  • Track and document design changes, ensuring proper approvals, version control, and execution.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 8–10 years of experience in architecture, space planning, or design coordination.
  • Experience in large-scale developments such as universities, cultural, or mixed-use projects.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD and BIM tools (*, AutoCAD, Revit) and documentation management.
  • Solid understanding of design coordination, space planning, and construction interfaces.
  • Experience managing design consultants and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to oversee design processes, standards, and change control workflows.
  • Strong organizational and documentation management capabilities.
  • Ability to support planning and project delivery functions in complex environments.
