About the Role

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in the English Language Department (ELD). English Language Department Courses

The ELD delivers four core undergraduate English courses:

• An Introduction to Academic Discourse (focusing on freshmen composition, reading, and academic vocabulary)
• An Introduction to Report Writing (covering source-based writing, presentation skills, and term report preparation)
• Academic and Professional Communication (addressing advanced research and report writing, job-seeking strategies, business correspondence, and presentation skills)
• Career Essentials (including interviewing skills, corporate culture, and creative problem-solving techniques)

Key Responsibilities and Workload

Lecturers in the ELD are responsible for teaching undergraduate English courses. The academic calendar comprises two 15-week semesters (fall and spring), each followed by two weeks dedicated to final examinations.

• Teach four classes per day, three days per week.
• Hold five office hours per week.
• Instruct two of the four undergraduate courses each semester.
• Manage a student load typically ranging from 80 to 90 students.
