About the Role
Weatherford is seeking a Technical Sales Representative for Gas Lift Completions to join their team in Dhahran, Eastern Region. This full-time position requires a candidate with 5-10 years of experience in technical sales within the oil and gas industry.
Role Overview
The Technical Sales Representative will leverage extensive product line and operational knowledge to strategically sell specific tools, technologies, and services within Completions. This role involves providing clients with a high level of product and operational expertise at customer locations, such as rig sites, warehouses, or workshops, in alignment with the sales plan. The representative will also proactively identify opportunities for cross-selling across different product lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage fibre optic monitoring and gas lift sub-Product Line businesses within the Kingdom.
- Conduct all customer-facing sales and business development activities, including daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to Weatherford management and customers.
- Support the Technical Sales Manager with budgeting, forecasting, and revenue delivery for the assigned sub-Product Lines on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Drive growth and market penetration across strategic accounts and clients within the Geozone.
- Deliver technical presentations to various external accounts as required.
- Present business-related financial and commercial information internally to stakeholders, including sales managers and global/local Product Line leaders.
- Develop and grow Product Line market share by targeting key departments and decision-makers.
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
- Expedite the resolution of customer issues and non-productive time (NPT) to minimize impact.
- Analyze market potential, track sales, and provide periodic status reports.
- Track all sales and business development efforts using corporate CRM software, Salesforce.
- Coordinate weekly with the sales manager to ensure accurate budget tracking and forecasting of upcoming fibre optic and gas lift activities.
- Collaborate with global Product Lines to prepare and compile technical and commercial content for pre-qualifications, quotations, and tenders.
- Ensure collaboration between sales, applications, and operations teams for service delivery and job execution.
- Coordinate with the operations team to maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring rotation per budget and quarterly forecasts.
- Manage the sales lifecycle process from start to finish.
- Respond to Client Engagement Plans.
- Propose solutions to customers through formal channels (pitches, presentations, bids, tenders) and informal networks.
- Relay competitive information (pricing, product performance, marketing, activities, new technology) to appropriate Product Line stakeholders.
- Develop specific client application value propositions.
- Generate annual revenue targets through the creation and conversion of sales plans, including growth strategies.
- Identify and address revenue gaps to ensure target achievement.
- Assist the Technical Sales Manager with sales strategy formulation and annual budget planning.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of technical or operational experience in the Oil & Gas Industry, preferably in fibre optic monitoring systems and/or gas lift completions.
- A minimum of 6 years of sales experience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid understanding of fibre optic monitoring and/or gas lift applications and markets; experience with intelligent wells is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently.
- Highly motivated and target-driven with a proven track record in sales.
- Comfortable facing customers in various situations, including delivering presentations and engaging in business/operational discussions.
- Flexibility and adaptability to business changes and varying workloads.
- Prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- An Engineering Degree is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with fibre optic systems (including DTS/DAS) and/or gas lift completions.
- Experience working with clients in the Middle East.
- Previous exposure to marketing and sales of fibre optic data analysis.
- Knowledge of surface instrumentation related to Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS).
- Business Development experience in Intelligent Wells or Smart Well Completions.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Dhahran, Eastern Region.
