About Majd Yanbu Industrial Company

Majd Yanbu Industrial Company, a joint venture between Elsewedy Cables and Alfanar Electrical Systems, is establishing a copper rod manufacturing facility in Yanbu Industrial City. This facility will have a production capacity of 120,000 MT/year. As the company approaches commercial production, it seeks to build and maintain a strong safety culture across the plant.

The Role of HSE Inspector

The HSE Inspector will contribute to maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards within a modern copper smelting and rolling facility in Yanbu, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and involves hands-on involvement in safety practices across various plant areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily and periodic HSE inspections across the plant, including furnace, smelting, casting, rolling mill, workshops, warehouses, and utility areas.
• Identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe practices, reporting observations and recommendations to HSE Management.
• Monitor safety practices in the furnace and smelting area, ensuring compliance with safe operating procedures for molten copper and high-temperature equipment.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by employees and contractors, especially in furnace and high-temperature zones.
• Monitor fire, heat, gas, chemical, and other industrial hazards, ensuring appropriate control measures are in place.
• Oversee compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems for hot work, confined space entry, work at height, excavation, lifting, and electrical work.
• Inspect maintenance activities to ensure proper isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed.
• Monitor lifting and material-handling operations involving cranes, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Inspect fire-fighting equipment, alarm systems, emergency exits, and assembly points for readiness.
• Support accident, injury, and near-miss investigations, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor contractor compliance with company HSE requirements before and during work activities.
• Conduct Toolbox Talks, safety awareness sessions, and HSE induction programs for employees and contractors.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, safety observations, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Participate in emergency response drills and evacuation exercises.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in HSE/Safety, preferably in an industrial plant, heavy industry, metal manufacturing, copper smelting, casting, or rolling mill environment.
• Good knowledge of HSE principles, procedures, and safe work practices in industrial environments.
• Good understanding of furnace, molten metal, and high-temperature hazards.
• Knowledge of Permit to Work (PTW) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Ability to conduct site inspections and prepare HSE inspection reports.
• Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and incidents.
• Good command of English and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are preferred.

Location and Work Type

This full-time position is based in Yanbu, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia, within a greenfield industrial project environment.
