About the Assistant IT Manager Role

Shangri-La Group is seeking an Assistant IT Manager to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah Region. This full-time position supports the Information Technology Department in ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and services within the hotel. The role requires a proactive approach to system maintenance, data security, and user support, contributing to the overall efficiency of hotel operations.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Assistant IT Manager will work closely with the Information Technology Manager to oversee daily IT operations. Key responsibilities include ensuring the continuous operation of critical hotel application systems such as Opera PMS, Infrasys POS, and Call Accounting System, along with their associated hardware. This role involves addressing user-reported IT issues, both hardware and software, and implementing standard IT operating procedures and checklists. Additionally, the Assistant IT Manager will contribute to the development of new application systems and enhancements to existing ones, aiming to improve departmental efficiency and hotel operations.

• Ensure critical application systems and hardware are operational.
• Provide technical support for hardware and application systems to users.
• Implement and adhere to daily IT operating procedures and checklists.
• Develop new application systems and enhance existing ones.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess a degree in Computer Science and have between 2 to 5 years of relevant experience. A minimum of 3 years as a senior analyst/programmer in a large company is required. The role demands strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is necessary. Fluency in both English and Arabic is essential for effective communication.
