About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking an ESH Advisor / Occupational Hygienist for the Ar Rjum Project in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves establishing and managing industrial hygiene processes and programs on large-scale projects, utilizing scientific principles and experience to mitigate potential adverse impacts. The position is based in the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif and 26 km south of Al Mouwayh, a town on the Jeddah - Riyadh highway.

Project Overview

The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project that includes three open-pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpiles, a processing plant, and tailings management facilities. Supporting infrastructure comprises water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and both temporary and permanent accommodation villages.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate the execution of the Industrial Hygiene (IH) component of the ESH Program, covering both technical and administrative aspects.
Assist in preparing and implementing the Safety and Health Management Plan, related procedures, and training programs.
Provide input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups regarding IH issues, risks, and mitigation techniques.
Interpret and integrate IH requirements into proposals, planning documents, risk assessments, and ESH program execution.
Conduct research on moderately complex issues and regulatory requirements, perform studies and risk assessments, and prepare documentation and reports.
Offer support and guidance for IH studies, risk assessments, and program reviews and audits.
Contribute to emergency preparedness efforts and conduct incident investigations.
Participate in or lead meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Conduct ESH inspections and IH monitoring and sampling to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and Bechtel requirements.
Support bid proposals, including documentation, estimates, and compliance with IH requirements.
Maintain working relationships with clients, team leaders, and other ES&H team members.
Develop and maintain the project Occupational Health Program (OHP) and adapt it through various project stages.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in a field related to industrial hygiene.
2-5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6-9 years of relevant work experience without a degree.
Experience range: 5-10 years.

This is a full-time position located in Saudi Arabia, specifically for the Ar Rjum Project. The role involves working within a large-scale industrial project environment, requiring collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.
