About the Manager SME Pricing Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Manager SME Pricing to support strategic pricing and underwriting activities for the SME portfolio. This full-time role, based in Jeddah and Makkah, requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on enhancing profitability and operational efficiency through effective pricing strategies and performance monitoring.

SME Pricing and Underwriting Responsibilities

The Manager SME Pricing will execute SME pricing strategies, conduct rate analysis, and monitor pricing adequacy and loss trends. This includes enhancing underwriting guidelines, performing audits, and supporting quality assurance reviews to maintain portfolio health. A key responsibility is to continuously improve and maintain pricing models and tools, ensuring alignment with market needs and regulatory requirements. The role also involves discussing and negotiating quotations and technical results with the Sales team.

Performance Monitoring and Product Development

This position will track product performance metrics such as premium growth, loss ratios, retention, and new business conversion across various distribution channels. Variance analyses will be performed to identify performance drivers and communicate actionable insights to stakeholders. The role will also analyze customer behavior and trend shifts to proactively adjust pricing or underwriting strategies and collaborate on the design and pricing of new SME products, establishing risk controls and contribution margin goals.

Automation and Documentation

The Manager SME Pricing will assist in transforming manual tools into digital platforms to improve efficiency and accuracy. This includes collaborating on the implementation of technology solutions such as pricing engines and workflow automation, and supporting testing, deployment, and user training for new digital tools. The role also requires drafting and updating pricing frameworks, underwriting guidelines, and operational procedures, ensuring proper documentation and record keeping.

Collaboration and Requirements

Cross-functional collaboration with sales, finance, and IT teams is essential to align on pricing and underwriting initiatives. The role also supports knowledge sharing within the pricing team. Required qualifications include a strong foundation in quantitative analysis, accounting, finance, and exposure to financial services markets, along with data visualization skills. A BS or MS in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or Economics is necessary.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position located in the Makkah region, specifically in Jeddah and Makkah.
