Jeddah Transport Company is seeking a Director of Legal Affairs to join its team. This full-time position is based in the Makkah region, serving operations across Jeddah and Makkah. The successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding the company's legal interests and ensuring compliance across all operations.

Role Overview

The Director of Legal Affairs leads and oversees the provision of comprehensive legal advisory services to Jeddah Transport Company. This role involves supporting management and various departments on critical legal matters, including governance, contractual agreements, regulatory compliance, litigation, investigations, and strategic initiatives. The primary objective is to protect the company’s interests and ensure full alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Legal Advisory section and manage day-to-day legal support activities.
• Provide legal advice and opinions on operational, strategic, legal governance, regulatory, and commercial issues.
• Coordinate and support other sections within the department as required.
• Review, draft, negotiate, and advise on contracts, agreements, MoUs, partnerships, letters, and other legal instruments.
• Support major projects, initiatives, and strategic partnerships from a legal and risk management perspective.
• Advise management on legal implications, obligations, liabilities, and risk exposure arising from company activities and decisions.
• Ensure legal alignment of all company activities with applicable laws, regulations, directives, and governance requirements.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel and consultants, overseeing the quality of external legal services.
• Provide legal support for Board and Committee matters when necessary.
• Assist in managing disputes, claims, investigations, and legal notices involving the company.
• Support the establishment and improvement of legal processes, templates, controls, and contracting frameworks.
• Contribute to strengthening legal awareness and promoting good governance practices across the organization.
• Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely legal review and support for projects and operational activities.
• Prepare reports, legal summaries, and updates for management as required.

Legal Governance and Compliance

A core aspect of this role involves ensuring robust legal governance and compliance frameworks are in place. The Director will be responsible for upholding the company's adherence to all applicable laws and regulations, mitigating legal risks, and fostering a culture of good governance throughout the organization. This includes proactive engagement in legal risk assessments and the development of internal legal policies.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Director of Legal Affairs position must possess a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant legal experience. This experience should demonstrate a strong background in leading legal functions and providing comprehensive legal advisory services within a corporate environment.

This is a full-time position based within the Makkah region, with responsibilities spanning across the cities of Jeddah and Makkah. The role requires a dedicated professional capable of operating effectively within a dynamic corporate setting.
