About the Merchandiser Role at PepsiCo

PepsiCo is seeking a Merchandiser to join its sales team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience in sales and account building. PepsiCo products are consumed globally, with the company generating significant net revenue driven by a diverse portfolio of beverages and convenient foods.

Role Purpose and Context

The primary objective of this role is to maximize sales volume, minimize product stales, achieve distribution targets, and ensure the implementation of agreed merchandising standards. The Merchandiser will also be responsible for collecting accounts receivable and maintaining high levels of customer service. Adherence to operating procedures is essential for maintaining consistent standards across the region. The role also involves gathering market information to identify sales opportunities and participating in training to enhance professionalism and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell the full range of products to an assigned list of customers, with sales measured against agreed targets.
  • Maintain stales levels below the agreed target provided by the supervisor.
  • Provide approved service levels to customers, adhering to call frequencies and daily route plans to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks as per operating procedures, ensuring the sales vehicle is maintained in a clean and roadworthy condition, reporting any defects promptly.
  • Supply ready-to-ship customer orders on time, including full delivery arrangements.
  • Manage individual customer stock levels to agreed requirements to minimize out-of-stock situations.
  • Implement agreed in-store merchandising standards as communicated by the supervisor.
  • Report relevant competitor activity in the service area to the supervisor.
  • Perform daily reconciliation of all cheques, cash, and credit sales.
  • Maintain a neat and presentable personal appearance.
  • Adhere to high driving standards and obey all driving regulations.
  • Provide supervisors with the latest market information to develop sales opportunities.
  • Attend training courses designed to improve professionalism and customer service.
  • Complete a daily debriefing with the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Sales & Account building.
  • Experience in managing sales volume, minimizing stales, and achieving distribution targets.
  • Proven ability to implement merchandising standards and maintain customer service levels.
