About the Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Makkah. This full-time position focuses on quantity surveying to support pre-award activities for tendering and procurement processes.

Role Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer, in the capacity of a Quantity Surveyor (QS), is responsible for the precise calculation of quantities and the development of detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs). This role is crucial for ensuring that all quantity take-offs are complete, accurately structured, and aligned with the project scope as defined by Issued for Tender (IFT) drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Review Issued for Tender (IFT) drawings, project specifications, and all relevant tender documentation.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs across all relevant disciplines, including civil, architectural, and structural elements.
• Prepare comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) that strictly adhere to the project scope and established measurement standards.
• Ensure that BOQs are logically structured, measurable, and fully prepared for tendering purposes.
• Identify any missing scope, inconsistencies, or design gaps within the IFT documents.
• Liaise with design and technical teams to resolve any identified discrepancies.
• Develop and document assumptions and clarifications pertaining to quantity calculations.
• Provide accurate quantity data to support tendering and estimation teams.
• Maintain detailed measurement sheets and backup calculations for all take-offs.
• Update BOQs as required by tender addenda or revised drawings.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher diploma in a relevant engineering field.
• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in quantity surveying or a related role.

This is a full-time position based in Makkah. The role is integral to the pre-award phase of projects, ensuring accurate quantity data is available for tendering and procurement.
