About the Role

Hyundai Motor Company is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join its team in King Abdullah Economic City, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on managing the delivery of Internal Audit (IA) assurance and advisory services within HMMME. The position involves overseeing annual planning, engagement execution, and follow-up activities for a portfolio of engagements, while developing strong relationships with key stakeholders to provide valuable insights.

Core Responsibilities

This role encompasses comprehensive management of internal audit functions, including leadership, collaboration, business partnering, and adherence to established policies and procedures. The Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for ensuring high-quality audit and advisory delivery, contributing to the strategic direction of the IA function, and fostering continuous improvement across the department.

Audit Engagement Management

• Support the development of a dynamic risk-based IA plan by managing risk assessment and annual planning activities, including proposing engagements, scope, timing, and required resources.
• Act as the Engagement Manager for multiple concurrent or complex engagements within the IA Department.
• Manage the day-to-day project management of engagements across planning, fieldwork, and reporting, ensuring delivery of high-quality assurance and advice, on time and to budget.
• Establish and maintain regular coordination between the Internal Audit Manager, management, and the engagement team on engagement progress, ensuring corrective actions are taken to address issues.
• Monitor and report on the progress of management action plans for the IA Department, facilitating effective and timely implementation, including guiding action owners and escalating overdue actions.
• Support and coach engagement teams throughout the engagement lifecycle to facilitate the correct application of the IA methodology and enhance functional and leadership competencies.
• Actively engage in quality activities within the IA Department, soliciting in-flight quality advice and facilitating quality assessments.
• Ensure that Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) feedback is appropriately addressed by engagement teams to enhance engagement quality and team capabilities.

Team Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

• Plan, manage, and review direct reports’ performance to ensure their development goals are achieved, providing honest and timely feedback, development, and coaching.
• Proactively propose and implement ideas that contribute towards the strategic direction of IA, and lead or support assigned IA strategic initiatives.
• Share knowledge across the IA Team and IA Function to enhance team capabilities and practices, and collaborate with colleagues to optimize resource sharing.
• Create, develop, and maintain strong relationships with senior management to stay abreast of changing business needs.
• Develop relationships across HMMME and externally to enable effective knowledge sharing within IA and across the organization.

Operational Oversight and Compliance

• Support the Internal Audit Manager with Department reporting as required.
• Support in effectively managing IA Department expense budgets, including travel and consultant expenses, ensuring budget variations are agreed upon in advance.
• Undertake all relevant activities in line with the Function’s policies and procedures, including the IA methodology and IA Delegation of Authority.
• Report to the Internal Audit Manager and refer to them on all strategic and critical matters, and refer key decisions with a significant impact to the IA Head of Department for approval.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role within a complex organization or a Big 4 firm.
• Preferably, experience working in the automotive manufacturing sector.
