About the Role

Virtucruit is collaborating with a prominent mining company in Saudi Arabia to recruit a Technical Support Specialist for their Drilling Department. This full-time position is based in Najran and requires 2-5 years of relevant experience. The specialist will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of drilling systems and equipment by providing essential technical support and resolving operational issues.

Role Overview

The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and resolving operational issues related to drilling systems, equipment, and associated technologies. This role involves direct support to end-users, maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, and monitoring system performance. Collaboration with technical teams is essential to minimize downtime and ensure efficient drilling operations within a demanding mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to drilling and site personnel.
• Install and configure hardware and software systems.
• Troubleshoot IT equipment, network, and system issues.
• Support field data collection devices and systems.
• Maintain IT equipment inventory and asset tracking.
• Respond promptly to user service requests.
• Ensure systems are updated and properly maintained.
• Monitor network performance and connectivity.
• Assist in the setup of site communication systems.
• Ensure cybersecurity measures are followed.
• Maintain documentation of IT systems and issues.
• Support remote sites with connectivity solutions.
• Install upgrades and patches as required.
• Provide user training on IT systems.
• Assist in backup and data recovery processes.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical support.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
• Maintain helpdesk records and issue logs.
• Support continuous improvement of IT services.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a technical support role, ideally within an industrial or demanding operational environment. This experience should include direct involvement with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, as well as providing support for specialized operational systems.
