About the Developer Portal & Community Manager Role

This full-time position is for a Developer Portal & Community Manager at Jobgether, based in Saudi Arabia. This role is central to how a technical, open hardware product is documented, understood, and adopted by its global developer community. The position involves hands-on technical communication, requiring a deep understanding of the product itself, not just its explanation. The environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and emphasizes transparency and open development.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Developer Portal & Community Manager will own the Developer Portal end-to-end, shaping it into a structured and reliable source of information for engineers, contributors, and enthusiasts. This involves transforming complex internal development activities into accessible public documentation and community updates. The role acts as a bridge between internal engineering teams and the external community, facilitating effective two-way feedback. Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning, structuring, and continuously improving the Developer Portal for accuracy, organization, and usefulness.
  • Translating internal engineering discussions, technical updates, and product changes into clear public documentation.
  • Maintaining and organizing wiki pages, GitHub repositories, and other developer-facing resources.
  • Participating in engineering discussions to stay aligned with development work and product direction.
  • Moderating community contributions, discussions, issues, and pull requests to ensure quality and constructive collaboration.
  • Collecting and synthesizing feedback from the developer community for internal teams.
  • Ensuring structured and productive communication within the community.
  • Assisting developers in navigating the portal, contributing effectively, and engaging with the ecosystem.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Excellent written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to produce clear technical documentation, guides, or README content.
  • Solid understanding of software development workflows, including Git, branches, commits, and pull requests.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into structured explanations, utilizing diagrams or flowcharts when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to extract key insights from technical discussions.
  • Comfort working closely with engineers and engaging in technical conversations across hardware and software domains.
  • Ability to distinguish valuable feedback and maintain focus on high-quality contributions.
  • A strong organizational mindset focused on structure, clarity, and information architecture.
  • Genuine interest in developer tools, hardware products, open-source ecosystems, and build-in-public development culture.
  • Fluency in both English and Russian for cross-team and community communication.
  • Experience or familiarity with DevRel, technical writing, community management, or developer portals is considered a strong advantage.

Work Environment and Collaboration
