The Role: Director - Finance

Amrak Facilities Management Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director - Finance to lead its finance department. This role requires strong knowledge of financial management, familiarity with the Facilities Management Sector, and extensive knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). The ideal candidate will hold membership in a relevant professional body.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the activities of the Facility Management team to ensure efficient work execution in line with strategic project management plans, policies, and procedures.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, monitor actual performance against budget, and provide detailed analysis and recommendations for improvements.
• Analyze and create financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting practices.
• Identify potential cash flow problems and financial irregularities.
• Liaise with department heads to ensure adherence to budget.
• Prepare tax returns accurately and ensure timely payment of company taxes.
• Supervise and provide overall guidance to account clerks and junior accounting staff.
• Provide regular updates to management regarding company finances.
• Ensure the company maintains compliance with accounting legislation.
• Set up, build, and develop the Accounting Operations Team and supervise them.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS standards, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage the company’s cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs and strategic initiatives.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and company policies.
• Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the company’s financial stability.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software for accurate and efficient financial processes.
• Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors, tax advisors, and other key stakeholders.
• Lead or support special financial projects such as acquisitions, cost/value analysis, or financial modeling.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field.
• A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in a Management Accounting-related field.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Membership in a relevant professional body (such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA).
