Floor Manager

About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton is seeking a Floor Manager to assist in the daily operational activities across various departments, including Culinary, Food and Beverage, and Front Office. This full-time position involves directing employees to manage guest arrival and departure procedures and ensuring the property's cleanliness standards are maintained. The Floor Manager is responsible for contributing to guest and employee satisfaction and supporting the achievement of the operating budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily operations by reviewing critical reports and monitoring food hygiene and service standards.
• Conduct daily checks of food and beverage supplies and cleanliness.
• Monitor bookings for private rooms and operate department equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
• Coordinate with the Executive Chef on food presentation and with the Front Office Manager regarding guest arrivals and departures.
• Ensure employees have proper supplies and uniforms, and comply with loss prevention policies.
• Supervise same-day selling procedures and verify room rates to maximize revenue and occupancy.
• Utilize budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to assist in property operations management.
• Manage departmental controllable expenses to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
• Participate in investigating employee and guest accidents and assist in guest recognition programs.
• Interact with guests to gather feedback, respond to complaints, and identify service improvement opportunities.
• Train staff, monitor adherence to policies, and supervise staffing levels to meet operational and financial objectives.
• Observe employee service behaviors, provide feedback, and empower staff to deliver excellent customer service.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and performance appraisal processes for operations team members.
• Coach, counsel, and encourage employees, and participate in disciplinary procedures and recognition programs.
• Assist with labor management systems for scheduling and tracking time/attendance, and support payroll functions.
• Oversee daily shift operations, ensuring compliance with all policies, standards, and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant operational role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage daily operations in Culinary, Food and Beverage, and Front Office.
• Experience in directing and working with employees to achieve operational goals.
• Proficiency in monitoring and maintaining cleanliness and service standards.
• Capability to manage budgets and contribute to financial objectives.
• Strong interpersonal skills for guest interaction and feedback management.
• Experience in staff training, supervision, and performance management.
