Role Summary

The Nature Expert is responsible for leading a variety of recreational and educational programs for guests of all ages. This full-time role involves ensuring guest safety, promoting facility regulations, and delivering experiences that align with The Ritz-Carlton's service values and cultural heritage. The position requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead programs for children, youth, adults, families, and groups, including activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, underwater photography/videography, botanic park tours, sustainable living lessons, and arts & crafts.
• Explain and promote recreation facility rules and regulations to ensure guest and member safety.
• Monitor activity within recreational facilities and respond appropriately to emergencies in accordance with local operating procedures.
• Identify situations where guests may be unable to safely participate in an activity and inform supervisors.
• Demonstrate knowledge of local and cultural heritage during activities.
• Prepare for each activity, ensuring all necessary materials are ready for both the lead and co-naturalist/attendant, and guide groups consistently.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management, and complete required safety training and certifications.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation.
• Communicate professionally, including answering telephones with appropriate etiquette.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards, and recommend or implement improvements to organizational quality.

Physical Requirements

• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
• Navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 75 pounds without assistance.
