About the Principal Contracts Role

Wood is seeking a Principal Contracts professional to support its projects business. This full-time role is based in Saudi Arabia and involves contributing to the development of a new gold mine and processing facility at a remote site. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contracts related to essential site-based services, including camp operations, logistics, maintenance, and general services.

Role Responsibilities

The Principal Contracts role requires comprehensive contract administration and management from award through full execution, ensuring adherence to project and organizational requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering and managing vendor contracts throughout their lifecycle.
  • Reviewing and evaluating contract deliverables, variations, change orders, and claims.
  • Ensuring commercial and contractual terms align with project, company, and client needs.
  • Serving as the primary interface for resolving contractual and commercial issues with vendors, engineering teams, procurement, and client representatives.
  • Supporting internal and external audits, supplier performance evaluations, and contract close-out procedures.
  • Monitoring contract milestones, schedules, and financial obligations.
  • Identifying potential risks and supporting mitigation strategies for vendor performance and contract compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in contract management.
  • A strong background in managing EPC/EPCM projects.
  • Experience with OEM and equipment supply contracts; experience with technology provider vendors is preferred.
  • A solid understanding of FIDIC or similar contract frameworks.

  • Robust analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail in reviewing commercial and contractual documentation.
