About the Procurement Manager Role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Procurement Manager for its Crowne Plaza location in Medina, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is open to local candidates only. The role focuses on developing and managing effective procurement processes to support business operations and strategic decisions within the hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain procurement processes to support senior management decisions, including preparing reports and presentations for leadership meetings.
  • Manage the preparation of accurate and timely quote, order, and payment processes, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Drive efficiency in reporting, processes, and procedures by establishing performance metrics and identifying improvement opportunities for tracking, controlling, and reporting on purchases.
  • Execute special research and analysis projects, collaborating with procurement and contract managers to provide consistent data and assumptions.
  • Ensure compliance with current procedures, internal controls, company policies, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Coach and develop team members, including hiring, performance assessment, and problem resolution.
  • Utilize analytical tools to highlight critical concerns and present data with recommendations to executive management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, IS, Purchasing Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive work experience in areas such as procurement, supply chain management, financial analysis, technology, contract management, and asset management.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing teams, demonstrating the ability to lead people and achieve results through others.
  • Proven ability to build cooperation and trust with colleagues and cross-functional teams.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated knowledge of product and service needs, financial analysis, and contract terms and conditions, preferably within a technology environment.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge of changing technologies and service providers.
  • Experience with technology, telecommunications, and services negotiations and contract management is preferred.
  • Ability to scope projects, develop action plans, influence others, and manage conflicting viewpoints.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a broad perspective.
  • Experience in leading, managing, and motivating teams to achieve business goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for all organizational levels.

Decision-Making Authority

This role has a significant impact on financial planning, cost management, and procurement for the assigned unit. Decisions and data analysis directly influence business operating decisions made by senior management. Key decision rights include defining procurement and contract compliance processes and standards, establishing and managing supplier, contract, and asset metrics, and performing data analysis on pricing, purchasing trends, and supplier performance to optimize results.

Work Environment and Relationships

Work is performed in a normal office environment in Medina. The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders including technology leaders, executive and senior management, Finance, and Project Managers. External relationships include vendors, Hotel General Managers, MIS Managers, owners, and industry specialists to negotiate performance, address compliance issues, and identify necessary resources.
