About the Role

Leidos is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer to join the Contractor Engineering and Technical Support team. This role supports a * Air Force Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The assignment is for one year with the option to renew. The position may be based at one of four locations within the Kingdom, with potential for occasional support to remote radar sites as outlined in the Performance Work Statement. This is a full-time position.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Radar Systems Engineer will apply comprehensive knowledge of surveillance radar equipment, subsystems, hardware, software, operation, and maintenance. Key responsibilities include interfacing radars within an air defense network and providing support to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Officer-in-Charge. This involves actively advising and assisting in all aspects of the specialty, continuously monitoring RSAF training, and recommending improvements. The engineer will also be responsible for training RSAF Engineering Officers and Warrant Officers in both practical and theoretical aspects, producing adequate engineering training materials, and performing intermediate-level maintenance as required. Support for Mobile Maintenance Team (MMT) functions, including travel to remote radar sites for specialized maintenance, troubleshooting, and training, is also a core part of this role.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Radar Technology is required.
  • Specialized training and certification in general radar expertise are mandatory.
  • A minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience with a wide variety of surveillance radars, including the TPS-43/72 or the FPS-117, is necessary.

Technical Experience and Skills

  • Demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge and experience with Long Range Radar operation and maintenance.
  • Experience encompassing installation, testing, integration, upgrades, and modifications to Radars.
  • Familiarity with Air Defense Ground Radar, Primary/Secondary systems, all aspects of 3-dimensional Radar plot extractors, Height Computers, and interface equipment.
  • Technical knowledge of antennas, processors, computers, monitoring systems, data transmission, plot extractors, power systems, and other subsystems associated with the TPS-43/72 or FPS-117 Radars.
  • Experience with interfacing radars in an air defense network and understanding radar siting to meet minimum coverage criteria.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate past examples of cultural adaptability and the capacity to establish trusted professional relationships with an international customer.

Compensation and Work Type

The salary range for this position is $131,*** to $237,**** This is a full-time role.
