Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage all cost aspects of civil and building works projects, from inception to final account. This full-time role focuses on optimizing expenditure and maximizing revenue without compromising relationships with employers or subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare all cost aspects for civil and building works projects, from inception through to final account.
• Administer subcontractors and ensure adherence to company procedures.
• Collaborate with site construction and technical teams to gather progress details.
• Manage Client Site Instructions and Variation Orders.
• Ensure timely submission of payment applications to the Employer by the due date.
• Prepare and regularly monitor cash flow and budgets, at least once per month.

Commercial and Contractual Support

• Provide contractual and commercial support, including correspondence and letter writing.
• Prepare backup documentation and justifications for Client Instructions and interim Valuations.
• Complete and submit monthly cost value reconciliations, cost-to-complete reports, and profitability projections within one week of Valuation submission.
• Place subcontracts on standard approved terms and templates, ensuring amounts are less than reflected in the allowable.
• Ensure all interim applications are received on time from subcontractors and included in KCT applications for timely submission to the Employer.
• Value subcontractor payment certificates at no more than the applied or client-certified value, processing them on time.
• Ensure all package preparation and tendering procedures conform to standards and are correctly coordinated.
• Verify that all changes to the scope of works are accompanied by signed-off Variation Orders, securing payment/deduction from the Client/Project Manager and back-to-back with the Main Contract.

Knowledge and Development

• Continuously expand knowledge of civil and building-related matters pertinent to specific projects.
• Develop expertise in all Quantity Surveying related matters for specific projects to effectively handle commercial and contractual issues.
