Urdu Linguistic QA Specialist

About the Role

SME Careers, a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate, is seeking an Urdu Linguistic QA Specialist for a remote, contract position in Saudi Arabia. This role involves overseeing the quality and consistency of Urdu AI training projects, ensuring that all AI-generated Urdu content and trainer/QA work meet established guidelines and quality standards. The specialist will provide detailed feedback and support the onboarding and ongoing performance of contributors.

Role Context and Impact

As an Urdu Quality Assurance Lead, you will play a direct role in enhancing premier AI models by ensuring that Urdu training data is natural, accurate, culturally appropriate, well-documented, and aligned with client expectations. This position requires strong linguistic skills in both Urdu and English, meticulous attention to detail, and structured communication abilities to manage quality workflows across remote teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Spot-check Urdu content, identify quality issues, provide feedback, and escalate critical concerns.
• Communicate updates on guidelines, project changes, and quality expectations to trainers and QAs.
• Respond to trainer/QA questions regarding Urdu wording, register, translation fidelity, cultural context, RTL formatting, Nastaliq script, and regional usage.
• Manage contributor activation by contacting inactive individuals, encouraging participation, and tracking follow-ups.
• Create and maintain Urdu project documentation, including style guides, FAQs, and onboarding materials.
• Schedule and conduct onboarding and training calls to explain project expectations, workflows, and quality standards.
• Ensure consistent application of Urdu language guidelines and understanding of updates among all trainers and QAs.
• Identify recurring quality gaps, propose workflow improvements, and contribute to scalable QA processes for Urdu-language projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Proficiency in Urdu and English, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to assess work for accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to project guidelines.
• Experience in providing precise written feedback and managing quality workflows.
