Baraya Extended Care is a dedicated healthcare provider located in Abha, 'Asir, Saudi Arabia, committed to delivering high-quality patient rehabilitation and support. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our full-time team.

The Role of Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist provides expert clinical leadership within outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation services. This role focuses on leading specialized rehabilitation assessments and interventions to address functional deficits across daily living activities, cognitive and perceptual skills, and physical capabilities. The primary goal is to promote patient independence, safety, and participation within the community and healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical leadership for occupational therapy services.
  • Develop and implement OT-specific care pathways, protocols, and outcome measures.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate junior OT staff; support student learning and professional development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize functional outcomes, streamline care transitions, and coordinate with caregivers, schools, employers, and community organizations.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and program development initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote client-centered, culturally competent care and community reintegration.

Core Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments across domains including ADLs, work, leisure, cognition, and perception.
  • Design, implement, and adjust individualized intervention plans; monitor patient progress and adjust goals accordingly.
  • Educate clients and their families on strategies for independence and adaptations for home and work environments.
  • Provide advanced practice guidance to junior therapists and engage in clinical teaching.
  • Lead outcomes measurement, audits, and participate in research or program evaluation activities.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, and other stakeholders to coordinate care transitions.
  • Support service development, specialization programs (*, hand therapy, cognitive rehabilitation, sensory integration), and continuing professional development.
  • Advocate for clients’ rights to participation and community access.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position must possess 2-5 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a relevant clinical setting. The role requires a strong understanding of evidence-based practices and a commitment to client-centered care.

Work Type

This is a full-time position based in Abha, 'Asir, Saudi Arabia. The Occupational Therapist will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and support service expansion.
