About the Advanced Data Analytic Officer Role

Almoosa Health Group is seeking an Advanced Data Analytic Officer to join their team in Al-Ahsa. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with 0-1 years of experience looking to contribute to data-driven initiatives within a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is on analytics and dashboard development. Responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support clinical, operational, financial, quality, and population health initiatives.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into analytical solutions, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Utilizing SQL, Power Query (M), and DAX for data extraction, transformation, modeling, and analysis from various hospital systems and databases.
  • Ensuring data accuracy and integrity through validation, reconciliation, and documentation of data sources, definitions, and reporting methodologies.
  • Identifying trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities, providing proactive recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Developing user-friendly dashboards with effective visual design, navigation, filtering, and drill-through capabilities to enhance decision-making.
  • Producing KPI reports, ad-hoc analyses, and data-driven recommendations aligned with departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Coordinating with data engineering and IT teams to resolve data quality issues, obtain source-system access, and maintain consistent data definitions.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and organizational data in compliance with applicable policies, accreditation standards, and regulations.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by the Director, Advanced Data Analytics.

A significant component of the role involves Service Desk & User Enablement, which may represent up to 50% of the time for designated officers. This includes responding to user-submitted service desk tickets related to dashboards, reports, and analytics access, triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within agreed service levels.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma's degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Health Informatics, or equivalent.
  • A healthcare-related background (clinical, public health, health administration, or health informatics) is considered an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications in Power BI, data analytics, business intelligence, or healthcare informatics are preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience ranging from 0-4 years as a data analyst, preferably in healthcare settings.
  • Good command of both English and Arabic languages.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong hands-on experience building dashboards end-to-end in a modern BI platform; Power BI is strongly preferred. Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or comparable platforms are acceptable for candidates willing to transition to Power BI.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to read, modify, and write basic-to-intermediate queries against relational databases for data extraction and validation.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, and data modeling.
