About the Mechanical Supervisor Role at ABIS
Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. (ABIS) is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Supervisor to join our team in Al Jubail, Eastern Province. This full-time position is critical for overseeing and leading mechanical teams during planned shutdown and turnaround operations within the oil and gas sector. The role requires a professional with a strong background in mechanical supervision and a commitment to operational excellence.
Role Purpose
The Mechanical Supervisor will ensure that all mechanical tasks during shutdowns and turnarounds are completed safely, efficiently, and in strict adherence to quality standards. This involves direct supervision, effective resource management, and proactive problem-solving to maintain project timelines and operational integrity in high-pressure environments. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all mechanical work during shutdown and turnaround projects.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage daily work schedules and allocate resources effectively to optimize productivity.
- Coordinate with project team members and external contractors to facilitate smooth and integrated operations.
- Monitor the progress of mechanical tasks, providing regular reports on status and identifying potential issues.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures throughout all mechanical activities.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings to ensure team awareness and compliance.
- Identify and resolve operational problems promptly to prevent delays and maintain project schedules.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical supervision, with a specific focus on shutdown and turnaround activities.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance practices, and industrial safety standards.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with industrial safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
Work Setting
