About the Role

Modern Mills For Food Products Co. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team in Al Jumum. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment across our operations. The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of relevant experience and be committed to upholding the highest safety standards.

Role Purpose

The Safety Officer is responsible for the comprehensive implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of occupational health and safety standards, policies, and procedures. This involves proactively identifying potential hazards, conducting thorough inspections, and delivering essential safety training. The primary objective is to ensure strict compliance with all legal and organizational safety requirements, thereby preventing accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses within the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the consistent implementation of all occupational health and safety (OHS) policies, procedures, and standards throughout the workplace.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify unsafe conditions, acts, or practices, and ensure timely corrective actions are taken.
• Monitor compliance with local regulatory requirements, company safety policies, and international safety standards.
• Deliver safety inductions, awareness sessions, and training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports with root cause analysis and recommending preventive measures.
• Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate emergency response drills and fire evacuation exercises, and ensure the readiness of first aid and firefighting equipment.
• Report safety performance, including fire pump readings and fire alarm system status, issues, and progress to management, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote a strong safety culture by encouraging safe behaviors and discouraging unsafe practices at all organizational levels.

Qualifications and Experience

• A "Practitioner" classification from Kawader is required.
• 2-5 years of practical experience in a safety role.
• Experience preferably gained within an industrial or food manufacturing environment.
