The Role: L2 Operation & Support Engineer

Thales Group is seeking an L2 Operation & Support Engineer to join the team in Al Khobar. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and involves applying software engineering skills to build, maintain, support, and optimize mission-critical, cloud-native systems and applications. The engineer will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of Thales CDI/MCS products, specifically On-Demand Connectivity (ODC) and eUICC IoT Manager (eIM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and automate infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles.
  • Maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
  • Install, configure, and manage Kubernetes-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Manage production systems with a focus on ownership, including real-time system monitoring, observability, and incident response to meet strict SLA commitments.
  • Act as a technical liaison between development, validation, and customers.
  • Participate in 24/7 onsite shifts to provide operational support and contribute to high-impact Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews.
  • Prepare technical documentation, customer acceptance plans, and operational readiness reviews to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Contribute to team growth through knowledge sharing, technical training, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience is required for this role.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar. The role involves working within a team that provides 24/7 onsite operational support, including participation in high-impact Change Advisory Board (CAB) reviews.
