About the WD Instructor CAT II Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a qualified Weapons Director (WD) Instructor CAT II to join their Air Engineering team. This full-time position is based in Al Majma'ah, Saudi Arabia, and is restricted to Saudi Nationals. The role requires a professional with 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruct approved Weapons Director practical and theory subjects.
  • Serve as Course Manager for Weapons Director training courses.
  • Conduct evaluations for WD Instructors and WD Simulator Support Specialists.
  • Liaise regularly with the Manager of Weapons Director Training and the RSAF Head of WD department regarding departmental and course training matters.
  • Plan, prepare, input, and test simulator training exercises designed to meet specific training objectives on the WD Simulator.
  • Manage WD Course scheduling and maintain WD Course data within the TMIS system.
  • Manage WD Department Subject Matter and Questions Banks within the LCMS.
  • Produce custom designed WD Department Crystal reports as required.
  • Prepare and review courseware, including lesson plans.
  • Prepare and review test and examination instruments and materials.
  • Generate reports on the performance of individual cadets, classes, and departmental performance.
  • Counsel cadets on academic and disciplinary matters in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Invigilate tests and examinations according to approved procedures.
  • Apply company procedures for configuration control of curriculum and courseware, including preparing documentation for change requests.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records using the TMIS / LMIS system.
  • Contribute to the preparation of timetables, scheduling, and instructor allocation.
  • Assist in the acquisition, allocation, maintenance, and use of training resources.
  • Foster an environment that encourages independent learning and a military ethos.
  • Provide feedback to management to improve service performance and identify opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with SHE policy and processes and Duty of Care responsibilities.
  • Undertake all mandatory and developmental training as required.
  • Adhere to company standards of behavior, dress, and performance.
  • Perform other duties as deemed reasonable and appropriate by the Company.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of six years’ experience as a WD, completing not less than 800 live intercepts.
  • Within five years prior to appointment, a minimum of one instructional tour at a WD school or in a WD Systems Training Environment.
  • Former RSAF WD Officers should possess AFSC 1533.
  • Completion of the Advanced WD Course.
  • Completion of the WD Instructor Course.
  • Proficiency in computing and keyboard skills.
  • Fluency in English, equivalent to IELTS 7 level if not a native speaker.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Within five years prior to appointment, experience controlling and instructing in ‘live’ and ‘simulated’ Air Defence environments.
  • 3 years of training experience within the WD Training Department at KFAA.
  • Completion of an Instructional Techniques Course.
