About the Role: Head of Software Development

دواجن الوطنية is seeking a Head of Software Development to join its team in Al Qassim. This full-time leadership position is central to the successful delivery of software solutions and the management of IT support infrastructure. The role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience and involves overseeing all aspects of software development within the organization.

Role Purpose and Context

The Head of Software Development will manage a team of developers and IT specialists, collaborating closely with AWP-Management, the Head of Database, and other members of the Senior Leadership Management Team (SLMT). The primary objective is to deliver software and IT services that effectively meet user needs, aligning with the company's aims in service of the scientific community and for public benefit. This role is also accountable for creating and delivering the strategic software and IT architecture vision and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of senior software developers and software developers.
• Develop and deliver a strategic technological vision and direction for the organization.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of applications including SAP, SAGE, Patch Applications (Maintenance, Medical, E-Recruitment, etc.), and Mirnah.
• Lead and manage the Software Development and IT teams to deliver software, infrastructure, and architecture that meets user needs.
• Ensure delivery consistent with Agile processes across the team.
• Work effectively with Product Managers and Product Owners to ensure delivery against agreed priorities.
• Implement mechanisms to monitor, manage, and provide progress on all software development activities.
• Ensure the on-time and quality delivery of software development projects.
• Manage the maintenance and development of internal and external IT support systems.
• Create, implement, and maintain a continuous improvement plan for software development and IT infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to meet current and future user needs.
• In conjunction with the Systems Manager, define and maintain the IT technology strategy and infrastructure plan.
• Oversee personal work planning against objectives set in agreement with the Management.

Strategic Technology Leadership

• Research the external environment and, where appropriate, identify and recommend external partners for the delivery of best-in-class technologies suitable for company applications.
• Review and apply best practices to establish architecture and frameworks consistent with and supportive of the Product Strategy.
• Identify and implement technology trends that will support the future success of the business.
• Articulate the company’s technological vision, opportunities, and challenges to colleagues, Trustees, and user communities, as agreed with the Head of Science and Product Managers.
• Collaborate with appropriate functions and users to evaluate and identify technology platforms for delivering the company’s products and internal services.
• Understand use cases and/or user stories to oversee the design of the architecture for products to be built.
• Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization.
• Drive consistent standards and approaches throughout the development teams.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of experience in software development and IT leadership. Demonstrated ability to manage development teams, oversee complex application portfolios, and drive strategic technological initiatives is essential. Experience with Agile processes and a strong understanding of IT infrastructure management are also required.

Compensation

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of 9,000 to 13,500 SAR, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is based in Al Qassim.
