Job Description
About the Role
Acwa is seeking a Technical & Performance Engineer to join their team in Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the maximum performance, efficiency, and effectiveness of plant operations. The engineer will coordinate all operational activities to maintain optimal plant functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement effective policies and procedures for all Power and Desalination Plants.
- Monitor daily plant performance to ensure all parameters are within specified limits.
- Recommend and follow up on acid cleaning for Desalination Plants as required.
- Conduct troubleshooting in coordination with Power and Desalination Operation staff.
- Collaborate with the Shift Charge Engineer and Chief Chemist to enhance efficiency through operational changes, with Operations Manager approval.
- Recommend and follow up on distillate stage sampling and interpret results for potential tube leaks.
- Perform detailed plant inspections during annual maintenance and ensure follow-up.
- Prepare monthly performance summaries for the plants.
- Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessments are conducted, controlled, and updated.
- Implement, monitor, and report on IMS objectives, targets, and programs.
- Provide necessary resources for the effective implementation and sustenance of IMS.
- Report IMS performance to management periodically.
- Ensure legal compliance within the scope of activities.
- Identify root causes for non-conformances/deviations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Identify competency gaps for subordinate personnel and implement necessary actions.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for reporting employees.
- Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and organizational requirements.
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees and evaluate their OJT performance.
- Identify, document, and control hazards in the assigned work area.
- Ensure identified aspects are monitored and operational controls are followed.
- Report deviations in the Integrated Management System, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Report emergencies, incidents, and near misses.
- Ensure effective resource utilization.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.
Work Environment
This position requires working in a remote location.
