The Role of Reliability Engineer

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for applying various reliability methodologies to enhance machine performance, increase uptime, and reduce operational costs. This full-time role, based in Dammam, Eastern region, drives maintenance performance according to business requirements, defines reliability strategies, and executes reliability competencies within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define risk management and safety measures for new machines or projects.
• Conduct risk assessments and support the organization in loss elimination and lifecycle asset management.
• Assist in the development of reliability-based maintenance strategies.
• Define and update asset criticality and maintenance strategies based on asset context.
• Collaborate with maintenance managers, planners, schedulers, and supervisors to secure resources for implementing maintenance best practices and VMMS methodologies.
• Support the maintenance department in defining and executing VMMS and reliability roadmaps.
• Evaluate requested changes to equipment and processes.
• Improve weak components based on measured KPIs and performance analysis.
• Build and follow asset renewal plans and MARP for AA, A, B, C machines.
• Evaluate the criticality of spare parts and define appropriate strategies for stock replenishment.
• Support TPM projects by guiding professional maintenance teams on best practices for restoring machine basic conditions and improving weak components.
• Drive the maintenance predictive maintenance program to enhance maintainability and overall maintenance performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the same or a similar industry.
• Knowledge and experience in reliability engineering tools and practices including DRCA, PMO, HERCA, TWTTP, FMEA, and MARP.
• Knowledge and experience in CMMS.
• Strong background in mechanical systems.
• Experience in predictive maintenance.

Required Skills

• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to participate in design reviews and documentation, and provide progress updates to supervisors.
• Knowledge of industry standards on equipment design, safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Capability to educate and train technicians.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Independent, self-starter with strong written, communication, and analytical skills.
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks and exercise a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
• Computer literate.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong decision-making skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
