Health Safety Environment Officer

About the Role

Khidmah is seeking an Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Officer to join its team in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves implementing and overseeing site safety management systems to ensure compliance with KSA regulations and international ISO standards. The OH&S Officer will focus on creating and maintaining a zero-harm environment across all site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain site HSE documentation, hazard assessments (HIRA), and environmental plans in adherence to ISO standards (9001, 14001, 50001, 45001) and local legal requirements.
• Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, emergency plans, and work permits.
• Conduct regular safety audits, facility checks, hygiene evaluations, and enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage.
• Report daily violations, track corrective actions, and oversee chemical storage safety (COSHH/SDS).
• Lead site safety inductions, regular Toolbox Talks (TBT), emergency response planning, and evacuation drills.
• Investigate site accidents and near-misses, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective measures.
• Compile monthly HSE KPI reports.
• Represent the QHSE Manager in client and stakeholder safety meetings.
• Coordinate monthly HSE committees and support contractor prequalification processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Occupational Health & Safety roles.
• Demonstrated experience with site safety management systems.
• Familiarity with KSA regulations and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 50001, 45001).

Work Environment

This position is based in Buqayq, Saudi Arabia, and operates on a full-time basis within Khidmah's site operations.
