The Role: Egress Maintenance Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Egress Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Dhahran. This full-time role involves comprehensive management and supervision of maintenance activities related to the Tornado Egress System. The successful candidate will lead a team of technicians, ensuring adherence to stringent maintenance schedules and quality standards for critical aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities and System Management

  • Manage maintenance activities and the system testing programme for the Tornado Egress System.
  • Oversee Egress System Testing requirements for servicing schedules, unscheduled maintenance, Technical Compliance Time Out (TCTOs), and Service Instructions (SI’s).
  • Provide mandatory and independent certification, including Red-X clearance, for completed tasks carried out by the Maintenance Team Technicians.
  • Plan and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to meet the aircraft maintenance programme.
  • Coordinate maintenance activity with all trades and other supervisors, prioritising tasks according to the aircraft/shop schedule.
  • Monitor and provide daily updates on the team’s progress against the programme, highlighting any issues likely to impact maintenance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate information is supplied when submitting Aircraft Engineering System (AES) and Technical Queries.
  • Hold 2nd signature authority for relevant documentation.

Team Leadership, Quality Assurance, and Operational Support

  • Manage and supervise the Egress Maintenance Team Technicians, taking action to address poor performance and disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure personnel being supervised possess the necessary knowledge and skills, providing sufficient direct supervision to maintain quality standards.
  • Investigate and provide reports on technical issues and accident/incident events, and ensure an effective housekeeping programme is maintained.
  • Ensure sound maintenance practices and documentation procedures are always followed, and verify personnel authorisation/certification before task delegation.
  • Provide on-the-job theory and practical training, promote personal development, assess competency, and certify personnel for specific tasks when certified as a ‘Workplace Trainer’.
  • Manage logistics support by ensuring accurate and timely demands for replacement components/parts, monitoring forecast dates, and highlighting potential impacts on the aircraft programme.
  • Provide accurate estimates of ‘additional work’ content and hours, and limit overtime through effective planning.
  • Deputise for the Egress Superintendent when required, including establishing positive relations with internal/external customers, ensuring accurate information flow, and providing technical reports for daily maintenance meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this full-time position must possess over 10 years of relevant experience in egress system maintenance and supervision, preferably within an aviation or defence context. A strong understanding of aircraft maintenance programmes, quality assurance protocols, and team leadership is essential.
