About the Emergency Medical Specialist Role

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is seeking an Emergency Medical Specialist to join their team in Dhahran, Eastern Region. This full-time position offers an opportunity to provide critical medical support within a healthcare setting. The role requires a proactive approach to patient care and a commitment to upholding professional standards.

Core Responsibilities

The Emergency Medical Specialist will receive direction from Physicians and provide essential technical support to enhance patient care outcomes. Key duties include:

• Responding to emergency calls such as Rapid Response Team (RRT) and Code Blue, assessing patient conditions, and making critical care decisions with physician guidance.
• Performing resuscitation and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), as well as emergency airway procedures.
• Monitoring and administering medications, pain relief, and intravenous infusions under physician advice.
• Managing patient transportation to other hospitals, continuing treatment and care during transit.
• Conducting medical triage of patients, including obtaining and documenting vital signs, administering oxygen therapy, and utilizing cardiac and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems.
• Assisting with technical functions such as obtaining 12-lead ECGs, IV insertion, and operating bag-valve-mask resuscitators and external defibrillators for advanced life support.
• Maintaining an inventory of medical supplies on the response vehicle and completing daily ambulance checklists.
• Overseeing the sterilization and disinfection of the ambulance, particularly after treating patients with infectious diseases.
• Ensuring appropriate medical documentation is maintained.
• Performing all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.

Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates for this position must meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Medical Services or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
• An IELTS score of or higher.
• A valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialities (SCFHS) Classification and Registration.
• Maintenance of current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• An EVOS certificate.
