About the Role

The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) is inviting applications for multiple Lecturer positions. This full-time role is based in Dhahran and seeks candidates with expertise in Industrial Engineering and related fields who are committed to academic excellence.

Key Areas of Expertise

KFUPM is particularly interested in candidates who possess interests and expertise in one or more of the following specialized areas within Industrial Engineering:

• Operations Research
• Production Systems/Supply Chain Management
• Quality Control/Statistics/Data Science
• Engineering Economics
• Industrial Information Systems
• Human Factors/Economics

Responsibilities

Lecturers are expected to dedicate approximately 35-40 hours per week to professional duties. Core responsibilities include teaching, research, academic advising, and administrative tasks, along with other academic duties assigned by the department. Specific expectations for this role include:

• Engaging in high-quality teaching, fulfilling departmental teaching requirements, and developing lab activities at the undergraduate level.
• Incorporating recent advancements in the area of study into course curricula.
• Initiating and maintaining research activities or projects with faculty members, aiming for peer-reviewed articles in high-impact professional journals.
• Participating actively in departmental and university service, including program development and other assigned duties.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Candidates for the Lecturer position should demonstrate the following qualifications and skills:

• Demonstrated teaching experience.
• Experience with a programming language, with a preference for Python and Jupyter notebooks.
• Excellent communication skills.
